Desktop Capture Videos – What are they, and what’s right for me?



Welcome –this post is aimed at desktop capture beginners – if you’re not sure what desktop capture is, and you’re curious about using it to produce videos for your courses (or any other educational application), then you definitely want to checkout the video below. It will also get you started thinking about what types of desktop capture or video processing software you might want to start learning.

Before you watch the video, you should know I understand the practicalities of software purchasing may trump choices based on functionality. For example, if you have absolutely no money to invest, you don’t have much choice but to use a free tool such as Jing. But it you the money for only a single piece of software, I would have to strongly recommend Camtasia Studio. Camtasia works well for beginners and advanced users alike, and will accommodate you as you learn new skills.
